Report on Teachers’ Day Celebration-2016

The Positive Philosophy Society of the Department of Philosophy, P. G. Govt. College for Girls, Sector-11, Chandigarh organized an event “Teachers’ Day Celebration ” on 5th September, 2016. The details of the function are given below: • Ms. Nidhi Semwal and Ms. Bhanu Priya coordinated the function. Ms. Bhanu Priya welcomed all the new students. • Ms. Nidhi introduced The Positive Philosophy Society with its objectives and also about the importance of Teachers’ Day celebration and addressed new students by sharing her experience as well as guide them regarding the college life. • Ms. Roshni, Ms. Nidhi, Ms. Manisha, Ms. Jaskamal, Ms. Harshita, Ms. Bhanu Priya and Ms. Aanya Nain facilitated for their excellent scores in University Examinations as well as for extra-curricular activities. • An interactive session with new students also held. Students shared their views and performed some entertainment activities, as directed by senior students. Some senior students also performed singing and dancing activities. • The following students were selected for the working committee for the session 2015-16: President: Ms. Nidhi Semwal (BA-III), Vice-President: Ms. Aanya Nain (BA-II), Secretary: Ms. Purandhi Gupta (BA-I). C.R.s cum Associate Members: Ms. Lalita (BA III), Ms. Bhanu Priya (BA-II), Ms. Sherry (BA-I). • Teacher-Incharge, Dr. Desh Raj Sirswal encouraged students to write and explore their thinking through creative initiatives and also discussed about the objectives of education and role played by teachers and students to achieve it. • The programme ended with light refreshment served and arranged by BA II and BA III year students. A special thanks to Ms. Nidhi Semwal, Ms. Aanya, Ms. Bhanu Priya, Ms. Jaskamal and and Ms. Harshita for their valuable efforts and contributions to make this event successful.
